Soul Flow Retreat: Body*Mind*Soul Flow Hippie Hike
Time & Location
About The Event
Join us for a hike like no other. Open to all levels, Families welcome! We're coming together to reconnect with the elements, give gratitude to the Earth, and develop lasting rituals that inspire BODY*MIND*SOUL Flow. Join us for hiking + flow arts + drum circle + mantra & meditation + movement and restorative poses + community + and some good 'ol classic rock ☮️
A beautiful day of hiking, lake views, ruins, and a waterfall. An inspirational hike of connection, creativity, and compassion through a journey of mindfulness, movement, and music. We will nourish our body, minds, and souls by supporting the creation of new pathways for self awareness, exploration, and transformation. We will connect through flow, sound, song, and movement.
Our day will include:
--3.8 mile hike at Arden Point and Glenclyffe
--Mantra and meditation for soul healing, personal affirmation and intention setting.
Mantra is said to be the "medicine for the soul." Chanting supports us in allowing the mantra meaning to seep below the surface, into our subconscious, helping us to shift our habits and patterns and support the creation of new pathways for personal growth.
--Drum circle for connecting to the rhythm of the Earth and the beat of our souls.
Drumming is grounding-it brings us together and moves us together. Drumming brings us into deeper alignment with the body and our connection to the physical Earth. Please bring percussion instruments or share ours.
--Flow arts workshop: unlock the flow! learn prop techniques, combinations, incorporating movement into and engaging in the flow state with poi, hoop, and silk fans. Please bring your own props or share ours.
--Restorative movement and poses focusing on hips and legs, the parts of the body ruled by the Earth element.
The first chakra—the Muladhara, or the root chakra—is the foundation of the entire system. Our practice will support us in grounding, centering, and purifying our bodies and minds through a root-chakra cleansing flow combining flow arts and restorative movement poses.
Some good 'ol classic rock-yes, we take requests and there will be a sing-a-long!
--Travel to/from the hike is not included. We will meet you at the hike at 11am and depart the hike by 5pm. Take the Metro North to the Garrison stop (less than 90 minutes from Grand Central!). Once there, with your back to the train tracks walk to your right and you’ll see two stone pillars and a sign for “Arden Point – Hudson Highlands State Park.” We will meet in front of this sign at 11:00am sharp. We will organize a meet up at Grand Central and provide additional support in locating train times. Please follow the FB event page here for more details.
